Animoca Brands partners with LayerZero Labs, making LayerZero its default interoperability solution.
Animoca Brands, a pioneer in digital property rights for gaming and the open metaverse, has established a multi-year strategic partnership with LayerZero Labs, the team responsible for the omnichain interoperability protocol LayerZero.
As stipulated in the agreement, LayerZero will serve as the default interoperability solution for Animoca Brands and its subsidiaries.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, Animoca Brands stated that the partnership will concentrate on simplifying cross-chain interactions for users, enabling them to concentrate on consuming digital content without the need for technical expertise.
The two entities will integrate LayerZero’s technology to improve the digital experiences of Animoca Brands’ gaming, entertainment, and other blockchain ecosystems.
“This collaboration will create seamless omnichain interactions and enhance the digital experiences for our respective communities,” said Bryan Pellegrino, CEO of LayerZero Labs. “Together, we are making it easier for developers and users to harness the full potential of blockchain technology in gaming, digital entertainment, and beyond.”
Animoca Brands observed that the Omnichain Fungible Token standard from LayerZero Labs is already being implemented in prominent projects such as Mocaverse and Open Campus.
“We envision an omnichain future for digital content and gaming. At a time when the games industry faces new and old challenges, it’s more important than ever to signal our dedication to and support for mission-aligned builders like Bryan and the LayerZero team, who are developing battle-tested infrastructure for the future of the internet,” said Yat Siu, co-founder of Animoca Brands.
The partnership also encompasses collaborative endeavors in educational initiatives and community events to foster comprehension of interoperability technologies.
LayerZero has the potential to expand its user base and market penetration by leveraging Animoca Brands’ extensive network of 540 investment portfolio companies.
Solana was incorporated into LayerZero’s cross-chain bridge network last month, which expanded its developer capabilities and improved its functionality across more than 70 blockchains.
