The Lens Protocol and Laguna Games have launched a new gaming ID, which allows players to connect across various NFTs game experiences.
Players will be able to connect their profiles across the online and mobile NFT gaming platforms of Crypto Unicorn thanks to these new decentralized gaming IDs.
Binder, which connects profiles from its network with the avatar system powering Crypto Unicorns, is the Lens integration. This opens up new ways to access leaderboards, bonuses, and awards within the ecosystem in addition to new ways to log into games.
The CEO and co-founder of Laguna Games, Aron Beierschmitt, claims that this is a method for decoupling identification systems within gaming franchise ecosystems.
“We will branch off an existing ecosystem to maximize benefit to our player community,” said Beierschmitt.
Lens Protocol founder Stani Kulechov says this integration will benefit users on both platforms as it allows players to, “move seamlessly and securely between platforms using one identity.”
Interoperability is crucial to the growth of blockchain ecosystems in Web3, especially as more utilities and apps are added to them.
Interoperability is a concept that is frequently used in relation to navigating between blockchain networks. However, there is a growing need for interoperability in other areas of the domain, such as gaming, as Web3 apps proliferate.
The Web3 gaming market has been hailed as a significant entry point for widespread adoption and as an illustration of value for ownership through NFTs.
It is also one of the parts of the market that investors are paying attention to. Blockchain games and metaverse projects raised $1.3 billion between July and September of this year, according to a DappRadar Q3 report.
ChainSafe, a provider of Web3 infrastructure, has raised $18.75 million as the company shifted its emphasis to GameFi development.
