This position investigates high-end crypto fraud, money laundering, and other blockchain-based crimes committed by organized criminal groups. The investigators will collaborate with a surveillance team and the London Police Department.
The position requires working with and collaborating with other investigators and intelligence and analysis team members to develop complex cases utilizing data and evidence from multiple sources.

The United Kingdom has been striving to establish an investigative unit dedicated to crypto-related criminal activity. The NCA launched its digital assets team on January 4, significantly emphasizing crypto assets.
A rise in the value lost to crypto fraud in the United Kingdom in 2022 prompted the unit’s founding. According to the United Kingdom’s cybercrime and fraud reporting system, crypto scammers plundered at least $287 million in 2022.
The NCA has been consistently attempting to add personnel to the crypto team. The NCA also posted a job listing for financial investigation supervisors on July 26.
These investigators will supervise crypto and digital asset crime investigations from the perspective of the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA), which is concerned with confiscating and redistributing criminal proceeds for the benefit of the community.
