In a recent national poll, Donald Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris by 4%; however, uncertainty persists as prediction markets present a mixed picture.
Former President Donald Trump has gained a notable lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in a national poll as the 2024 U.S. presidential election approaches.
Conducted by Rasmussen Reports from August 8-14, the poll shows Trump ahead by 4%, with 49% of likely voters supporting him compared to 45% for Harris.
Donald Trump Vs. Kamala Harris In National Poll
This poll provides a significant boost for Trump, who has been actively campaigning and using his strong pro-crypto stance to appeal to a wider voter base.
Rasmussen Reports, known for their accuracy in the 2016 and 2020 elections, surveyed 1,885 likely voters.
Despite Trump’s apparent lead in the poll, prediction markets like Polymarket present a different outlook.
On Polymarket, Harris is favored to win the election with a 51% probability, while Trump’s chances are at 47%.
This contrast between traditional polling and prediction markets underscores the unpredictability of the current political landscape.
Earlier, Trump and Harris briefly tied on Polymarket. Harris has gained notable support from the crypto community, despite backlash from a Crypto For Harris town hall.
Meanwhile, Trump continues to criticize Harris on social media to solidify his voter base.
As a pro-crypto candidate, Trump has been aggressive in his social media campaigning, especially on Truth Social and X (formerly known as Twitter).
In a post on Truth Social, he harshly criticized Harris, calling her a “communist” and warning that her leadership would cause the rapid decline of the United States. He stated:
“Comrade Kamala Harris is terrible for our Country. She is a Communist, has always been a Communist, and will always be a Communist. Under her ‘leadership,’ the USA will fail, and fail quickly. We will not let that happen!!!”
On X, Trump focused on immigration issues, criticizing the Biden administration for a sharp increase in illegal immigration.
He shared a chart showing that the number of illegal immigrants has risen to over 300,000 under Biden’s tenure, marking a 1,833% increase compared to nearly 15,000 when Trump left office in 2020.
Trump also accused Harris of releasing “violent illegals—convicted felons back onto the streets,” indicating that immigration will be a central theme in his campaign.
Elon Musk In The Political Scene
Amid the political tension, tech billionaire Elon Musk has also weighed in on the discussion. Musk, who has previously shown support for Trump, has been active on X, continuing to criticize Harris by amplifying posts critical of the Democratic Party.
Recently, Musk highlighted a post by a Dogecoin graphic designer claiming that AI models like ChatGPT and MetaAI suggest that the Democratic Party controls the legacy media.
Musk’s involvement in the political discourse goes beyond social media.
In a recent high-profile interview with pro-crypto Trump on X, Musk proposed the creation of a “government efficiency commission” and expressed his willingness to participate.
Trump responded with interest, hinting at the possibility of future collaboration between the two.
