Ripple CTO Backs Biden's Gag Order Request in Trump Trial

Ripple CTO David Schwartz has publicly defended President Joe Biden amid the turmoil surrounding Donald Trump’s ongoing criminal prosecution.

At the crux of the trial are allegations that Trump improperly handled classified documents.

Furthermore, in light of a recent progression involving special counsel Jack Smith and U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, it has garnered considerable political discourse and media coverage.

Ripple CTO Defends Joe Biden’s Actions

As new information emerged, Ripple CTO David Schwartz entered the fray and defended Biden’s actions.

Schwartz posited that Trump’s rhetoric demanded a resolute reaction in light of the censure she received regarding Biden’s participation in the trial.

Additionally, he referenced the special counsel’s efforts to restrict Trump’s public statements on the social media platform X.

Moreover, Schwartz stated, “But it’s totally fine to impose a gag order on his top political opponent.”

However, the Ripple CTO’s statement follows the announcement of the rejection of the restraining order.

An additional round of discussion ensued when a user inquired of Schwartz how Biden’s actions corresponded with the precedent established in Sheppard v. Maxwell.

The subject matter of the landmark Supreme Court case was media coverage’s influence on a trial’s integrity.

The user questioned, “Explain to me how, under Sheppard v. Maxwell, a criminal defendant’s right to a fair trial isn’t violated when THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES sponsors a press conference outside the courthouse, the day before the jury begins deliberations, to demand a conviction.”

Schwartz responded by emphasizing the complexities of the Sheppard v. Maxwell decision.

The Ripple CTO noted, “Sheppard v. Maxwell also included problems with rulings, in courtroom conduct, and direct communications with the jury.”

Furthermore, the Ripple CTO linked the dots between current news and the press presentation to reach a conclusion.

He added, “If you think those elements were essential to its holding, then that would explain how Sheppard v. Maxwell wouldn’t apply to this press conference.”

Conversely, other notable individuals in the cryptocurrency realm favored Trump over Biden due to the latter’s prior anti-crypto initiatives.

Update On Trump Trial

On Tuesday, May 28, Judge Cannon denied a gag order request from Special Counsel Jack Smith.

The purpose of the gag order was to impede Trump from expressing provocative remarks regarding the FBI’s inspection of his Mar-a-Lago estate in 2022.

Furthermore, Trump has repeatedly claimed, including in fundraising appeals, that President Biden was “locked & loaded, ready to take me out” and that FBI agents were authorized to shoot him during the raid.

The FBI characterized these unsubstantiated allegations as standard language restricting the use of force.

However, prosecutors are concerned that Trump’s rhetoric may present “a significant, imminent, and foreseeable danger to law enforcement” in light of these allegations.

In denying the gag order, Judge Cannon cited a “lack of meaningful conferral” with the defense.

This underscored the persistent discord between the judicial system and the public declarations made by Trump.

Amidst the prevailing legal commotion, the Biden campaign implemented a calculated course of action by actively participating in the trial proceedings.

Biden’s team appeared outside Trump’s New York City criminal hush money trial for the first time in six weeks.

Moreover, they intend to refocus the presidential race on Trump’s involvement in the U.S. Capitol uprising that occurred on January 6, 2021.

Furthermore, to underscore the gravity of the forthcoming election, the Biden campaign dispatched actor Robert De Niro and two former police officers who responded to the attack on the Capitol.
