In only a few weeks, the Robinhood (HOOD) trading app will debut a beta of their crypto wallets, which will allow for trading as well as sending and receiving crypto on the app.
The SHIB community has been waiting for the beta test version of Robinhood’s cryptocurrency wallets to be released since late September, anticipating that the program would offer its meme coin.
These wallets would allow trading, as well as sending and receiving crypto on the app, according to the Sept. 22 announcement.
Over 1.6 million people have already signed up for the waitlist for these wallets. In one month, fewer than one million people signed up.
Beta testing will begin in mid-January
The beta version of the wallets will be released in just a few weeks, in the middle of January next year, when the alpha tests are completed.
Customers who tried the alpha version of HOOD said they wanted instructional content on crypto so they could comprehend phrases like “transaction ID” and “network fees,” according to a survey done by the company.
As a result, the app will expand its HOOD Learn articles to include crypto in addition to traditional asset classes for this educational purpose.
Wallets with added security
According to a Robinhood blog post, each cryptocurrency traded on the app will have its own wallet. According to the survey, 66% of users have no crypto wallet and expect to have a single wallet for all of their crypto transactions. However, because all transactions will take place on-chain, each currency will be assigned its own address.
Robinhood also announced that it will enhance the security of crypto wallets with new features such as multi-factor authentication.
Will Robinhood list SHIB after all?
SHIB has been a long-awaited addition to Robinhood’s list of traded assets by the Shiba Inu community. The petition for the topic has already received 553,472 signatures on Change.org.
The SHIB army on Twitter tweets about the Robinhood listing requests every day, believing that if the app includes the token, its price will rise to a new historic high.
Meanwhile, Robinhood began testing wallets for Dogecoin, a Shiba Inu competitor.
