Xsolla, a Los Angeles-based corporation that manages in-game payments in Roblox, now accepts XRP as a payment option. BitPay will function as a partner, ensuring a seamless connection with cryptocurrency wallets.
Roblox is available on all major platforms, including Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and has 65.5 million daily active users, 44% of whom are under 13. In the first quarter of 2023, Roblox users spent roughly $773 million on in-game purchases.
In its efforts to incorporate cryptocurrency into its payment system, Xsolla has been quite active. It partnered with automated crypto management platform Coinchange Financials Inc. and live-streaming social Web3 platform TradeZing in August 2022 to develop an NFTs payment solution.
Xsolla partnered with Crypto.com in August 2023 to integrate the latter’s checkout solution into its Pay Station platform. The partnership between Xsolla and BitPay dates back to 2014 when the service began accepting BTC payments. BitPay and Xsolla launched PayPal USD (PYUSD) payments for merchants and consumers in September 2023.
