Samsung partners with Illuvium to feature its NFTs on new Web3 TVs, allowing users to view in-game assets from Illuvium’s interconnected games.
Illuvium, a well-known web3 game, has formed a partnership with Samsung, the consumer electronics behemoth, to advertise its web3 television bundles.
Samsung Web3 TVs have integrated support for Illuvium’s NFTs, which enables users to view their in-game weapons, Illuvials, and suits from Illuvium’s three interconnected titles. This announcement was made on August 9.
“This integration transforms the home TV into an immersive art display and pushes the boundaries of home entertainment by bringing digital art to life on the big screen with stunning clarity.” Illuvium was stated. “The collaboration with Samsung represents a new era of immersive experiences and digital convergence.” Illuvium will be introduced to the living rooms of millions by capitalizing on Samsung’s extensive distribution network.
Samsung will also disclose its strategic partnership with Illuvium at the Gamescom convention in Sydney later this month. Samsung’s booth at the event will also conspicuously display Illuvium, which will enable attendees to experience its three games: Arena, Zero, and Overworld.
In addition, contestants will have the chance to receive prizes, such as ten Samsung GEN3RATOR NFTs. 2,000 digital artworks from partner projects are exclusively accessible to users who possess both GEN3RATOR and Samsung Gen3 Chip NFTs.
CoinGecko reports that the value of Illuvium’s ILV token has increased by 10% over the past 24 hours.
Samsung Expands Web3 Offerings with GEN3GATE TV Bundle and NFT Integration
In May 2022, Samsung launched its NFT Platform, which enabled users to browse, purchase, and observe NFTs from their smart TVs. This was the first time web3 applications were introduced for smart TVs. Nifty Gateway, an NFT auction platform, curated the tokens that were featured on the platform.
Following this, Samsung introduced its web3 TV bundle, GEN3GATE, in April of this year. The bundle is automatically purchased in conjunction with two of Samsung’s smart TV models. It includes a GEN3RATOR NFT and a Ledger Nano X that is packaged in a limited edition.
Samsung refers to the NFTs as a “digital tool” that grants users access to exclusive features as its web3 roadmap is implemented, such as sweepstakes, discounts, events, and feature activations. The Samsung Web3 TVs also include an NFT Gallery, which enables users to display NFTs from a digital wallet on their television screens.
Illuvium, the World of Women NFT collection, the Polygon Ethereum scaling solution, and the Belvedere Museum—an Austrian World Heritage Site and venue that hosts contemporary art—are among the numerous prominent web3 projects that have collaborated with Samsung as part of its web3 partner network.
Sven Greier, Samsung Electronics GmbH’s vice president of TV/AV, stated, “Our strategy is intended to ensure that a wide range of Web3 experiences are easily accessible to all.” “We provide our customers with a straightforward method to engage in a variety of Web3 experiences in collaboration with our carefully chosen partners.”
Samsung initiated its investigation of web3 in 2019 with the introduction of the Samsung Blockchain Wallet App. That same year, the Samsung Blockchain Platform SDK was released, which is a software developer development tool that enables the launch of web-based Ethereum applications on mobile devices.
