After the Axie infinity Ronin Hack which cost the network $622M, Sky Mavis Axie’s developer has offered a top prize of $1,000,000 for hackers as reward to anyone who can identify vulnerabilities in the network.
After hackers siphoned $622 million in cryptocurrency from the company’s Ethereum sidechain, Ronin, last month, Sky Mavis, the producer of the play-to-earn game Axie Infinity, has announced a bug bounty program.
To “promote responsible disclosure of security flaws,” the developer is giving up to $1 million in incentives.
Aleksander Leonard Larsen, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, tweeted, “Calling all white hats in the blockchain field.” “Assist us in keeping @Ronin Network safe while earning a reward.” Larsen provided a link to a page about the Sky Mavis Bug Bounty Program.
Sky Mavis pledges to pay white hats also known as cybersecurity vigilantes their bounties in Axie Infinity’s native token AXS, with a “six-month vesting term and monthly unlocking for fatal bounties.” Those who can identify “extraordinarily severe concerns or those with enormous impact” will receive a top reward of $1,000,000.
Sky Mavis is also providing a $100,000 reward for finding “major” smart contract and blockchain flaws, as well as $50,000, $5,000, and $1,000 rewards for “high,” “medium,” and “low” risks.
