Following an extraordinary interaction with ChatGPT, a software chatbot developed by OpenAI, Masayoshi Son, CEO of SoftBank, expressed optimism regarding the future of AI.

Son discussed his emotional relationship with technology at his annual shareholders’ meeting, spotlighting his relationship with ChatGPT, whom he identified as one of his top advisors.
Son disclosed that he had shed emotions for several days due to a sense of unfulfillment in his career. Son announced that he emerged from his period of emotional distress with a renewed sense of direction regarding his goals. Son expressed his ambition to become an “architect” and to design the future of humanity in an article published by the Financial Times.
In addition, Son emphasized his commitment to and active engagement with artificial intelligence (AI) in response to a shareholder’s questions regarding his recent performance and the need for more focus on the new technology.
He clarified that he views AI seriously and considers it a vital tool for designing the future. SoftBank has previously announced its intention to enter the NFT markets in 180 countries by the end of the year.
Interactions Between Son and ChatGPT
In addition, Son disclosed that he interacts closely with AI daily. He described a novel ideation process with ChatGPT in which he actively engages with the AI model by proposing ideas and requesting feedback. This iterative back-and-forth continues until Son believes the AI is content with the concept proposal.
He was pleased and enthusiastic about the iterative feedback cycle, stating that after multiple rounds of discussion with ChatGPT, he felt great when his ideas were praised as practicable and excellent.
