Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has announced his long-term support for the MAJOR token, pledging to hold 1% of its total supply for the next 10 years.
Telegram CEO’s Endorsement of MAJOR Token
In a November 28 update on his Telegram channel, Durov praised the MAJOR token as one of the platform’s most successful mini apps.
He highlighted its impressive achievements, including generating $10 million in revenue and attracting 70 million users within just five months.
However, Durov emphasized its seamless integration with Telegram and its strong community engagement, calling it a standout example of innovation within Telegram’s ecosystem.
Durov also revealed that Roxman, the developer behind Major, had donated 1% of the token’s total supply to him.
Expressing his confidence in the project, Durov pledged to hold these tokens for 10 years without selling them. He noted that this decision reflects his belief in the platform’s long-term vision and sustainability.
Looking ahead, the Major mini app plans to expand its ecosystem by introducing features such as username NFT rentals, digital IDs, and a gaming hub. These enhancements aim to boost community engagement and improve user experiences.
Token Launch and Market Momentum
The MAJOR token is gaining traction as it prepares for listings on six leading crypto exchanges. While the official listings are forthcoming, its futures are already live on OKX, trading at $1.43 at the time of writing.
Durov’s commitment to holding 1% of the supply has generated excitement within the crypto community and heightened interest in the token.
Venture capitalists have referred to Durov as a potential “crypto Black Swan event,” citing his influence in fostering innovation and building trust within the community.
Meanwhile, Telegram’s own crypto holdings surged 225% to $1.3 billion in the first half of 2024, contributing to a 190% revenue increase during the same period.
Telegram mini apps, including Major, continue to gain popularity for their integration capabilities. Durov highlighted the growing success of such apps, including Fintopio, a CeDeFi wallet that facilitates smooth crypto transfers within Telegram.
