The Bored Ape Yacht Club has quickly become one of the most popular NFT projects just three days after its debut, following the footstep of its predecessor CryptoPunks. Its auction value at Sotheby’s now soars to $19 million.
Yuga Labs, the makers of Bored Ape, kicked off the auction of 101 unique NFTs from the founders’ own collection at famed British auction house Sotheby’s last week on September 2.
As of the time of writing, the online auction bid has risen to an astounding $19 million. It has already surpassed Sotheby’s projections of a top price of $18 million.

There are 10,000 such photos in the full set of Bored Ape NFTs. As a result, the auction winner will own 1% of the total collection. We’ve just been live for three days, but the auction will continue this week through September 9.
The Bored Apes NFTs
The Bore Ape NFT collection is gaining a lot of traction recently, just as the NFT market has gone crazy for CryptoPunks.
The Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) and the Bored Ape Kennel Club are both parts of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). All three collections collectively amassed approximately 170,000 ETH ($644m) in trading volume in the month of August.
A week ago, the Mutant Ape Collection debuted to great acclaim. Yuga Labs sold 10,000 Mutant Ape NFTs to new buyers in the first hour of operation, producing more over $96 million in ETH.
