Twitter rival, ‘Threads’ is finally launching today, and Elon Musk is not shy about ridiculing it, as evidenced by a recent Twitter exchange.
In a recent Twitter exchange, former Twitter CEO Elon Musk attacked Meta’s Instagram and Threads, intensifying his rivalry with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The conflict began today with the release of Threads, a Twitter-competitive app developed by Meta.
Elon Musk’s Reaction to Today’s Threads Launch
The release date of Meta’s Threads app, which was positioned as a competitor to Twitter, was disclosed by Mario Nawfal. Elon Musk responded sarcastically to the “sanely run” claim, alluding to Meta’s possible data acquisition practices.
In response to a remark about his Instagram departure email:
It is infinitely preferable to be attacked by strangers on Twitter, than indulge in the false happiness of hide-the-pain Instagram

Mark Zuckerberg posted a tweet depicting two identical Spider-Men facing off during the launch of Threads, symbolizing the rivalry between the two titans. Threads attracted millions of users within hours, including luminaries such as Shakira and Jack Black.
Will Twitter Be Replaced?
Threads is a competitor to Twitter, enabling users to post text and links, reply to messages, and repost content. Jack Dorsey, the former CEO of Twitter, cast doubt on the app’s privacy features by sharing a screenshot illustrating how the app could collect user data such as contacts, location, sensitive information, purchases, and browsing history.
Elon Musk responded humorously to the launch of the App by posting a grinning face emoji in response to a tweet stating that Threads was created using a keyword with only copy and paste capabilities.
It remains to be seen how Threads will compete with Twitter’s established dominance, but the rivalry between Musk and Zuckerberg guarantees that the battle for social media supremacy will continue.
