Following the beta version release of its wallet app, Uniswap has launched the app for Android users, incorporating an in-built swap functionality and is available on Google Play store.
Uniswap Labs vice president of design Callil Capuozzo stated that the new app eliminates the need for a distinct web browser extension by enabling users to conduct swaps via the decentralized exchange (DEX) directly from the app.
Oct.12 marked the release of the closed beta version of the application; however, the Android version has only recently become available to the general public. April marked the introduction of an iOS iteration.
There are presently more than $3 billion worth of cryptocurrencies locked up in Uniswap contracts. Uniswap Labs formed the Uniswap DEO, which oversees the DEX on behalf of the Uniswap decentralized autonomous organization.
According to Capuozzo, the team relocated the wallet address display in the app in response to user feedback, potentially making it more straightforward for users to copy and paste their addresses.
Additionally, Capuozzo stated that Uniswap now supports the simplified and traditional forms of Chinese, Portuguese, English, Spanish, Japanese, and French. Users can now view the value of their cryptocurrencies in their local currency.
Capuozzo added that the Android application for Uniswap was among the most requested products the team has received, and the company anticipates high demand.
“Responses on X and community members are incessantly inquiring, ‘When Android? “When Android?” inquired Capuozzo. He underscored the team’s stance on users continuing to submit suggestions for development.
