Uniswap Launches Permissioned Pools for $11T Asset Market

Uniswap v4 Hook Standard Enables Compliant Tokenized Trading

Uniswap Labs announced Permissioned Pools on Thursday, July 23, 2026, a new hook standard built on Uniswap v4 that allows regulated tokenized funds, securities, and equities to trade directly on the decentralized exchange while meeting institutional compliance requirements. The infrastructure enforces eligibility checks at the protocol level rather than relying on frontend restrictions or offchain verification, marking Uniswap's deepest push yet into the tokenized asset space as the market for such assets is projected to reach $11 trillion by 2030.

Superstate, Securitize and Dowgo Back Permissioned Pools Launch

Launch partners Superstate, Securitize, and European digital securities platform Dowgo helped shape the standard alongside Uniswap Labs. Securitize contributed early groundwork ensuring its DS Protocol-issued tokens could trade compliantly onchain, while Dowgo integrated the ERC-3643 token standard and plans to activate the framework once it receives DLT TSS authorization under the EU's DLT Pilot Regime.

Permissioned Pools Enforce Onchain Compliance for Institutions

Unlike traditional permissioned platforms, the pools verify wallet approval directly within the protocol before allowing a swap or liquidity action, giving issuers control over investor eligibility without sacrificing AMM composability. Uniswap Labs called it the first generalized, open-source, institutional-grade standard for trading regulated assets on an automated market maker.

The launch adds it to a growing list of DeFi protocols, including Aave's Horizon lending venue, adapting permissionless infrastructure to serve institutional demand for regulated real-world assets.

As more issuers pursue DLT authorization and onchain compliance tooling matures, Permissioned Pools could position Uniswap as a leading venue for tokenized securities trading over the next several years.

It described Permissioned Pools as laying the groundwork for the next generation of value moving onchain, with early partner participation signaling institutional confidence in the standard's compliance model.
