All team members have been pulled from the high-profile Web3 project METAPIXEL, which was created by Korea’s NPIXEL.
Several team members have reported that the well-known web3 game METAPIXEL has ceased operating. As was announced earlier today on X (formerly known as Twitter), the entire crew is unable to work on the project.
After it was revealed that the game was created by NPIXEL, a Korean AAA gaming studio, METAPIXEL saw tremendous success the previous year. On the Apotos blockchain, the game was first released.
However, the project’s participants remained mum regarding the reasons behind its suspension. The sign-in feature on METAPIXEL’s website will soon be disabled, and the sign-up page for new members has already been taken down, according to an announcement on NPIXEL’s discord server. In the upcoming weeks, the game’s Twitter and Discord channels will become less active and eventually inactive.
The current collapse of METAPIXEL is a result of a constant year-round fall in web3 gaming. This year, funding for web-3 games has substantially decreased, with June’s funding down 41% from the previous month and May’s funding down 22%.
Although NPIXEL is working on another significant project called “Chrono Odyssey,” it’s unclear whether lack of financing is primarily to blame for the stoppage of METAPIXEL’s development.
