Through a collaboration with Coinbase Derivatives, licensed trading platform Webull has increased the scope of its cryptocurrency futures product line.
On November 20, the digital investment platform and retail brokerage announced the development, stating that the integration gives U.S. retail traders access to future trading options for cryptocurrency.
This comes after Webull started trading commodities and futures in March 2024. Meanwhile, in August 2023, Coinbase Derivatives received approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to operate as a futures exchange.
Thanks to their partnership, Webull is now able to provide its U.S.-based clients with access to future contracts for Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Bitcoin (BIT), nano Bitcoin (BIT), Ethereum (ETI), and nano Ether (ET) will all be available directly on the CFTC and SEC-registered platforms.
Notably, from June 2022, Coinbase has provided trading for Bitcoin futures. Since then, it has grown and most recently included Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, and Litecoin futures trading. Anthony Denier, Webull’s Group President and CEO in the United States:
Integrating Coinbase Derivatives’ regulated and reliable framework into the Webull platform will open up more opportunities for Webull users to gain exposure to digital assets.”
According to Denier, the introduction of futures trading offers retail investors additional financial instruments.
Webull’s distribution would help the integration, according to Greg Tusar, vice president of institutional products at Coinbase.
According to Tusar, it facilitates increased market expansion and provides additional access to regulated cryptocurrency investment products.
Smaller contracts and Coinbase Derivatives’ 23-hour day, six-day week trading structure will be advantageous to traders.
Additionally, Coinbase will provide Webull users with free real-time market data. Arianne Adams, chief strategy officer and head of derivatives at Webull:
Smaller-size contracts provide greater access to crypto futures for Webull users interested in diversifying their portfolio in this market segment. We look forward to the financial opportunities this will open up for our users.”
.In the upcoming months, Webull intends to make these items accessible to American consumers.
