Amid a growing cryptocurrency industry and soaring bull market, crypto and blockchain education initiatives are gathering traction rapidly.
Women in Tech Global Summit 2024
The Women in Tech Global Summit 2024 administrators officially announced on May 7th, outlining their intention to integrate Unstoppable Domain’s technology into the summit’s Web3 top-level domain (TLD).
“The. WITG TLD is intended to facilitate networking, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities while fostering a strong sense of community and identity among women in technology,” the Women in Tech Global Summit organizers wrote. They further stated that the objective of this innovative field is to equip women with the necessary resources to thrive and flourish in the digital realm by “utilizing technology to educate oneself on technology.”
The participant-assignable digital identity domain, “.WITG,” will enable users to access education and training at the intersection of technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, in addition to networking.
88% of young adults in a global sample of 1,900 respondents indicated in a recent survey by cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin that they are “eager” to seek careers in the blockchain space, with 75% demonstrating a “very high” interest in the Web3 sector.
However, a mere 15% of the surveyed respondents indicated they have over three years of experience in blockchain technology. Since then, the exchange has launched the KuCoin Campus initiative, which aims to educate students about digital finance through a series of offline events at universities and schools around the globe.
Similarly, on the anniversary of its Blockchain4Youth initiative, which seeded $10 million in May last year, the cryptocurrency exchange Bitget documented more than 6,000 participants.
A total of 51 universities took part in the initiative, including Ateneo De Manila University of the Philippines, University College London, National Technological University of Argentina, and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, among others. These institutions issued over 2,000 Web3 certificates to students who completed the courses and final exams.
“Blockchain4Youth’s plans include providing more scholarships worldwide and launching more online courses and content featuring different influencers in the field on crypto-related topics to garner youngster’s attention further,” exchange representatives wrote. As of May 2028, the initiative remains active.
Even former CEO and co-founder of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), has shifted his focus to education since resigning in November. “We wanted the @GiggleAcademy logo to represent growth, fun, and positive energy, as well as honouring our Binance heritage,” CZ tweeted to support his newest educational endeavour.
Regarding Giggle Academy, he wrote in a separate post, “Initially, our development capacity may fall behind slightly, but we intend to make up for it during the scaling phase.”
Before this, in November of last year, Cointelegraph reported that the Institute of Crypto-Assets, an unprecedented scientific board, had commenced operations at the Léonard de Vinci Centre, a commercial district just outside Paris.
Six practitioners will comprise the committee supervising the institute’s operations, including Paymium founder Pierre Noizat and Ledger co-founder Nicolas Bacca.
