The Cardano protocol has encountered numerous hurdles, yet it has sustained 2500 days of uptime. Charles Hoskinson released an update on Hydra.
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently announced Hydra, which has sparked excitement among the ADA community.
He teased his followers about the coming of the long-awaited upgrade.
The reactions and responses indicate that the community is prepared to accept the scaling protocol.
Cardano Hydra Update Restores Community Confidence
Hoskinson suggested that the Hydra Head upgrade is prepared for deployment in his X post.
He addressed the community with a rhetorical question, inquiring whether they are prepared for “Hydra at Rare Evo?”
The Cardano founder included a link to a Hydra Doom website, confirming that the upgrade is coming soon.
For a long time, many onlookers believed that Cardano had abandoned the Hydra project.
However, Hoskinson dismissed the claims in March, stating that critics’ rumors were intended to spread FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt).
Additionally, he assured users that the network’s scaling protocol is currently in development, as the team is more “productive and motivated.”
Notably, the team has implemented several upgrades to the scaling solution in the past.
One of the upgrades that occurred in Q1 2024 was the update to version 0.12.0.
It maintained compatibility with the Mithril protocol developed by Input Output Global (IOG) and the Cardano Node version 8.1.2.
Reports have it that the Cardano team behind the Hydra Head had started working on the next iteration, version 0.15.0.
Last month, Stake With Pride, a major pool operator, stated that Cardano Hydra will enable “God mode” on the network.
This news led to an upsurge in the Cardano Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Total Value Locked (TVL) metric.
Also, it has resulted in an increase in ADA whale accumulation in recent times.
Furthermore, Hoskinson’s latest X post offers the community hope that Cardano remains highly interested in the Hydra project.
More Updates on the Cardano Ecosystem
Jaromir Tesar, a Cardano enthusiast, released an update practically simultaneously with Hoskinson’s.
Tesar informed his followers and other members of the ADA community that the protocol is now at epoch 500.
According to his explanation, each epoch lasts for 5 days.
This means that Cardano has maintained an uninterrupted state of motion for the past 2,500 days.
This implies that no network interruptions or restarts have been recorded.
In addition to the epoch update and the arrival of Hydra, the Cardano ecosystem has experienced other upgrades and events.
Developers just released the Cardano alpha v1, which marks the first step toward partner chains.
The objective is to reduce the vulnerability challenge that certain chains encounter in preventing low-cost attacks.
