Blockchain-based music streaming platform Audius will now feature NFTs from the Solana ecosystem in addition to Ethereum. This will allow over six million users to start using digital collectibles from the Solana collection.
Phantom, Solana’s multichain wallet and browser extension, will be used for the integration. Audius’ silver tier profiles, which own more than 100 of the platform’s native AUDIO tokens, will have access to the additional functionalities.
The agreement gives Solana its first “NFT discovery layer,” according to Roneil Rumburg, co-founder and CEO of Audius.
“Tooling from Metaplex and the Audius integration with Phantom made it possible to ship Solana support while maintaining the usability bar that Audius has become known for.”
Metaplex is a new NFT marketplace that debuted on the Solana network in June. At the time, it was endorsed by a number of celebrities and corporations.
Audius and TikTok
Audius, on the other hand, has made news after announcing a new partnership with TikTok, a prominent social media site.
Audius users will be able to share tracks directly on TikTok for the purpose of making short movies as a result of the relationship.
TikTok has grown to become one of the world’s largest social media sites, with approximately 1 billion monthly active users since its start in 2017.
NFTs space is growing
Due to high-profile celebrity endorsements, multi-million-dollar collections, and a rising understanding that digital treasures are the future, NFTs have entered the general consciousness.
NFT sales surpassed $900 million in August, considerably eclipsing the previous monthly high of $255 million recorded in May.
Millions of dollars have been spent on CryptoPunk NFTs, and high six-figure sums have been paid for pet rock collections centered around Ethereum. This year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas will feature an NFT giveaway.
