The Cardano Foundation announced the appointment of Mr. Benkort as the new technical director for open-source development
New Technical Director For Cardano Foundation
Matthias Benkort, a software developer at Cardano’s Input-Output Global who is best known for his work on the second-layer scalability solution Hydra, joins the Cardano Foundation in a new role.
Mr. Benkort, who goes by the handle @ KtorZ_ on Crypto Twitter, has taken to Twitter to announce his new job. He will be the technical director for the Cardano Foundation’s open-source department as of today, May 3, 2022.
Mr. Benkort’s new position will see him oversee the open-source (community-driven) technical development of the Cardano (ADA) blockchain and ecosystem.
Dirk Hohndel, a Cardano open-source developer, will assist him in achieving this goal. He is confident that the Cardano (ADA) community will rally behind the project’s next steps toward becoming a fully open-source network.
Cardano (ADA) on the road to its most crucial technical update
Mr. Benkort is working on Hydra, the first-ever second-layer scaling solution for Cardano. Its goal is to improve Cardano’s dApps ecosystem’s security and performance.
He recently stated that once Hydra is launched, it will scale Cardano (ADA) in a Lego-like fashion to provide maximum flexibility for all developers.
As we previously reported, the Cardano (ADA) ecosystem is nearing its most important technical update in months, the Vasil hardfork. Several aspects of Cardano’s (ADA) codebase will be revisited.
