A new survey shows that developers believe integrating Web3 will have an impact on user acquisition and retention.
According to a recent survey, three out of four game creators anticipate working on Web3 game projects as blockchain gaming becomes more widely accepted.
Coda Labs, a blockchain entertainment company, commissioned a poll of game creators to learn more about their perceptions on Web3. The researchers discovered that most respondents anticipate Web3 games entering their companies in the future, with 75% anticipating working on Web3 projects.
In addition, more than half of study respondents think Web3 will completely change the game business. 40% feel that adopting Web3 will increase the number of new users, while 36% think that Web3 integration will improve user retention in games.
While the viability of Web3 games is being discussed, Sekip Can Gökalp, founder and CEO of Coda Labs, remarked on the poll results and said that the benefits for developers are clear. He clarified:
“This survey shows that a majority of developers have already dipped their toes into Web3 game development, driven by benefits such as additional funding, new revenue streams, and player retention.”
Many developers understand that Web3 opens up new revenue streams in addition to attracting and retaining new consumers. Nonfungible Token (NFT) sales were cited by 47% of survey respondents as one of the key advantages of Web3, and 43% of respondents thought that crypto tokens may provide additional revenue. Web3 may be here to stay, but not everyone believes it.
The survey’s findings also indicate that 32% of respondents believe Web3 games are just a passing trend that won’t last for very long. Another recent survey revealed that players are more interested in earning Bitcoin (BTC $16,887) while playing games, despite the fact that many of the developers who took part in the survey feel that NFTs and crypto tokens can be new sources of income.
