According to a new survey, institutional investors’ hunger for digital assets, such as cryptocurrencies, is increasing.
It appears that institutional investors’ interest in cryptocurrencies and cryptocurrency-related firms is continuing to expand, according to new statistics.
Coalition Greenwich was commissioned by Fidelity Digital Assets, the cryptocurrency arm of global asset management behemoth Fidelity Investments Inc, to conduct a study of 1,100 institutional investors to better understand their expectations about digital asset investments.
The vast majority of investors who took part in the study expressed an interest in investing in digital assets in the future.
According to Reuters, the poll was performed between December 2020 and April 2021 with the participation of high-net-worth individuals, family offices, digital and traditional hedge funds, financial advisors, and endowments, among other participants.
The survey team characterised digital asset investment as investing in cryptocurrencies directly, purchasing crypto-related firm stocks, or gaining exposure to digital assets through other financial products.
Approximately 70% of those who took part in the survey anticipate making investments in digital assets during the next five years.
Nine out of ten people who are interested in investing anticipate that their company’s or their clients’ portfolios will include digital assets within the same time frame.
Fidelity Digital is working hard to keep up with the growing interest in digital assets among financial institutions. According to recent reports, the company plans to increase its workforce by approximately 70% in order to meet the increasing demand from institutional investors.
