Blockchain detectives detected a $14.9 million USDC transfer from a wallet associated with Vitalik Buterin.
Blockchain sleuths have identified a recent transaction from a wallet associated with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, in which he transferred USD Coin USDC worth $14.9 million to the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini.
According to a post on X by blockchain analytics firm PeckShield on October 17, Buterin’s wallet, “vitalik. eth,” sent $14.93 million to Gemini on October 16. The transaction was verified on Etherscan.

On October 14, Buterin received 14.93 million USDC from Kanro, a charity affiliated with Buterin. A separate analysis conducted by crypto data provider Lookonchain revealed that Buterin transferred nearly $500,000 to Coinbase three days prior.

The price of Ether, Ethereum’s native currency according to CoinGecko’s price data, remained stable following news of the transfer, declining by only 0.68 percent in the last four hours.
Buterin’s most recent transaction is the latest in a string of ETH deposits to centralized exchanges over the past few months, with total September transfers from Buterin’s wallets exceeding $3.9 million.
Buterin transferred 400 ETH, worth $600,000, to Coinbase on September 24. A transaction involving 600 ETH ($1 million) from the vitalik.eth address, which was also identified by on-chain surveillance platforms was reported.
