Additionally, the Trump transition team entertained the possibility of appointing Warsh to succeed Jerome Powell as the Federal Reserve Chairman in the future. Powell’s tenure as Federal Reserve Chair concludes in mid-2026. Donald Trump is also contemplating the appointment of Scott Bessent to serve as the head of the White House National Economic Council and subsequently succeed Warsh as the Treasury Secretary.

US SEC Chairmanship Position Under Consideration
