Microsoft has chosen Oracle to enhance its artificial intelligence (AI) services for Bing, consequently fortifying its competitive edge in the AI sector and elevating the quality of the search encounter.
Microsoft partnered with Oracle to enhance the AI capabilities of the chatbot Bing through the utilization of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), thereby improving the Bing search experience.
As per an official announcement by Oracle, Microsoft and Oracle have entered into a one-year agreement to augment AI services and conversational search capabilities of Bing, Microsoft’s chatbot.
Oracle’s OCI Infused with Microsoft’s AI Infrastructure will Improve AI Offering
Senior Vice President of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Karan Batta was optimistic regarding the partnership between Oracle and Microsoft.
Generative AI is a monumental technological leap, he said, and Oracle is assisting Microsoft and many other companies in the development and operation of new products.
This partnership will also facilitate the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) search technology on a global scale.
Conversely, Microsoft is optimistic regarding this collaboration, as it is expected to enhance the search experience for its user base.
Divya Kumar, Microsoft’s global director of marketing for Search & AI, emphasized how this partnership with Oracle and the integration of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and our Microsoft Azure AI infrastructure will not only improve the user experience but also accelerate the delivery of search results.
Microsoft’s Advancement in the Dynamic AI Industry and Rivalry
Microsoft was an early adopter of generative AI chatbot integration for its search engine when Bing Chat was introduced.
Nevertheless, the current market is flooded with Chatbots, such as ChatGPT and numerous others, including Elon Musk’s xAI, which was recently introduced.
In order to improve AI offerings and stay competitive in the AI industry, it is said that Microsoft’s partnership is vital.
Notably, Microsoft requires additional computing resources to maintain its position as a market leader in AI services, given its constant expansion; Oracle occurs to have tens of thousands of Nvidia A100s and H100 GPUs available for lease.
The most recent partnership between the two cloud providers leverages the Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure, which enables Azure services to communicate with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure resources.
Notably, this marks the second collaboration between these two prominent technology corporations, Oracle and Microsoft.
The organization previously declared its intention to consolidate its database systems within the data centers of Microsoft Azure.
Once more, the two competitors supported one another to improve their standing in the AI-centric, technologically advanced world for users.
