In March, the hacker who perpetrated the $4.3 million Remilia DAO hack transferred the stolen crypto assets through the Tornado Cash crypto mixer, according to Certik.
CertiK, a blockchain analysis company, reported on June 17 that 1,209.5 Ether, equivalent to approximately $4.3 million, was deposited into Tornado Cash. CertiK traced the assets to numerous addresses associated with the Remilia hack on March 16.
Remilia is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that controls the Milady Maker nonfungible token (NFT) collection.
Hacker Sells Milady-linked NFTs
The crypto assets were deposited into the mixing platform approximately three months following the Remilia breach.
Krishna Okhandiar, the proprietor of Remilia and Milady, also known as Charlotte Fang, claimed they were hacked on March 16. The report’s release coincided with the transfer of substantial quantities of ETH and NFTs to a wallet that promptly liquidated the assets upon receipt.
Dumpster DAO, an account on X, emphasized the incident by sharing a screenshot of the Remilia founder reporting the breach. The X account also disclosed the address that received the assets from wallets associated with Remilia.
Based on blockchain data, the address sold Milady-linked NFTs, including staked NFTx assets, and transmitted $1 million in ETH to another address.
Milady Memecoin Presale
Two days following the breach, a memecoin that paid tribute to Milady NFTs successfully conducted a memecoin presale on the Solana network. Milady Wif Hat (LADYF), a meme token that draws inspiration from the dog-themed memecoin Dog Wif Hat (WIF), garnered 91,486 Solana, valued at $18.7 million, within two hours of its announcement on March 18.
The team declared it would return all surplus SOL to the senders in light of the presale’s oversubscription. The asset’s price has declined since then, reaching a new all-time low of $0.00001703 on June 14.
The memecoin creators have clarified on their website that they are not affiliated with Charlotte Fang and the Milady Maker NFTs. “This token is merely a tribute to an NFT collection that we all cherish and acknowledge,” they stated.
