William Shatner the well-known actor best remembered for playing Captain Kirk in the Star Trek series, introduced an NFT line at Consensus 2023 on April 27.
This would follow his well-liked collection from three years prior as he made his forecast on cryptocurrency. The 92-year-old actor talked about why he is so excited about web3 in the entertainment sector and what he thinks will happen to encryption when humanity reaches the Star Trek era.
Shatner’s journey with blockchain
Shatner claims that his first experience with NFTs was in 2020, when 125,000 William Shatner trading cards on the Wax blockchain rapidly sold out.

When Shatner was asked if Captain Kirk would be interested in encryption, he responded that by the time we get to his universe’s time, the field will be “way, so high.” William remarked:
“It’ll be so many thousands of dollars in value – the crypto coins, I would assume that the individuals living now who will live two or three hundred years will acquire crypto before it explodes! The crypto tokens will be so many thousands of dollars in value.”
