Immutable partners with Fireblocks to provide secure asset management for Web3 games, NFTs, and DeFi projects in its ecosystem.
Immutable, a Web3 gaming blockchain, has announced its integration with the infrastructure provider Fireblocks to aid game developers in securely managing and storing their assets.
In a statement shared with Cointelegraph, Immutable highlighted that this new integration enables game developers to securely store and manage assets tied to game economies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
Asset Management Support for Developers
Immutable also mentioned that this collaboration would improve projects’ control over their holdings within Immutable’s Polygon-powered zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) chain.
Robbie Ferguson, the president and co-founder of Immutable, noted that Fireblocks’ infrastructure would assist game developers in managing assets related to NFTs and game transactions, ensuring smooth operations within DeFi.
The Immutable team expressed confidence that this new integration “will reshape treasury management for games, builders, DeFi projects, and ecosystem partners on Immutable zkEVM.”
In addition to asset management, the integration enhances security.
Immutable believes Fireblocks’ security solutions will help safeguard digital assets within the Immutable network.
What is Fireblocks?
Fireblocks is a security service provider that assists blockchain projects in moving, storing, and issuing digital assets.
The company integrates wallets, custodians, and financial trading partners into a single platform, aiming to become the cryptocurrency space’s equivalent of the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT) system.
On August 14, Fireblocks received a New York state charter, allowing it to offer crypto custody services to clients in the United States.
This enables the company to provide cold storage solutions to U.S. clients.
Immutable Shuts Down NFT Marketplace
This new integration follows Immutable’s announcement that it is shutting down its NFT marketplace.
On August 8, the gaming and NFT blockchain stated that its marketplace would be retired on August 13 as part of a strategy to expand its ecosystem through partnerships.
Immutable explained that the marketplace was initially created to showcase the capabilities of the Immutable software development kit (SDK), and now that projects have been established, it’s time to wind down operations to “see the Immutable Ecosystem grow.”
User assets will remain linked to their wallets regardless of the game or marketplace used.
Immutable also mentioned that they employ a global order book feature, allowing users to view their listings across other marketplaces with the same functionality.
