Charles Hoskinson Discusses Bitcoin, Web3 at Binance Blockchain Week
At Binance Blockchain Week, Cadano’s founder discusses the convenience of Bitcoin and Web3.
The founder of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson, gave a keynote lecture on the first day of Binance Blockchain Week, which is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre in the United Arab Emirates.
Bitcoin, Web3, and philosophy were among the subjects discussed by Hoskinson in his keynote address. He also discussed what the future holds for the Web3 community as it moves away from the comfort of Bitcoin and toward centralization.
Charles Hoskinson also raised questions relating to the decentralization and regulation of Web3, asking the audience of global blockchain enthusiasts, “At what point do you cross the threshold where you’re no longer decentralized? You’re no longer the arbitrator of trust?”
He went on to say that regulators all around the world are looking into blockchain technology, and he expressed his reservations about some of the problems and questions that have come up in discussions regarding the technology.
Questions such as “At what point can we reverse a transaction?” and “If we can, at what point can we freeze your funds?” have left the CEO baffled as he once believed that the blockchain community could not do that.
Apart from his apprehensions about the problems that are being raised in blockchain talks, Hoskinson also stressed the need of putting blockchain technology ahead of profitability.
He emphasized that blockchain provides everyone with fairness and equality, as well as giving smaller businesses a fighting chance.
Although Charles Hoskinson did not specifically mention decentralized autonomous groups, he did say that individuals must be included in the decision-making process of blockchain projects.
