Twitter said today that it has begun testing a new way to show art that can’t be copied in tweets. The feature, which was first announced last week, is being made in collaboration with four NFT marketplaces: Rarible, Magic Eden, Dapper Labs, and Jump.trade. Users will be directed to these marketplaces.
Twitter is testing Tweet Tiles, which it has already done with The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Guardian, with NFTs. For the experiment, a few NFT marketplaces have been chosen. This lets Tweets include an interactive, customizable widget.
The pilot will take place on the marketplaces Rarible, Magic Eden, Dapper Labs, and GuardianLink’s Jump.trade. So, for the first time, the featured partners will be able to show colorful NFTs right in their Tweets. The format makes it possible to show a larger picture of the NFT along with metadata like the title and creator.
With this pilot, NFT collectors can share their most prized digital collectibles in a new and exciting way. Twitter is expanding its Tweet Tiles pilot to NFT marketplaces. This comes after it added NFT profile pictures for users who connect their web wallet to verify ownership.
Tweet Tiles make a Tweet’s creative space bigger and give developers more ways to interact with Twitter users in a way that is visually appealing, interactive, and can be customized. Having the option to embed NFTs with relevant information and a direct link to the marketplace will boost sales and help people find new and popular collections. This Tweet Tiles pilot will be shown on iOS and the Web for the NFT marketplaces that are part of the test group.
